Tuxtepec Fair
Date: Fisrt half of May
This fair takes place near the end of June. The date varies, and festivities last for 10 days. It is one of the most important events in the region, especially because of the agricultural, cattle raising, industrial, commercial and handicraft exhibits. The exhibits attract exhibitors from neighbouring states, and the programme also includes a pageant to select the Fair Queen, an allegoric car parade, fireworks, popular dances, Mexican rodeo, horse races, cock fights, sporting events and artistic and cultural performances. The most outstanding events are folkloric dance performances, especially "la danza de la Flor de Piña" [The Dance of the Pineapple Flower], which represents the city of Tuxtepec. There are stands and a fairground during the fair as well.
